Andrew Bynum, not trying to kill a Washington Wizard

Last night, the Los Angeles Lakers have managed to do in one game with Kobe Bryant’s yearlong investigation for rape charges in Colorado couldn’t do, and that’s ruin the reputation of a classy franchise.  Down by 30 and losing 3-0 in the Western Conference playoffs in the NBA, the National Basketball Association’s most storied team and the 2010 champions were getting drubbed by the Dallas Mavericks and frustrations boiled over.  First, Lamar Odom, reality TV star and Lakers’ six man, as well as the NBA’s Sixth Man Award winner, got ejected for a hard foul on Dallas superstar Dirk Nowitzki.  That was bad.  Even worse was the actions of Laker Andrew Bynum.  While driving to the basket, JJ Barea was given a flying forearm by Andrew Bynum.

Literally, Bynum tried to hurt Barea, who has been a thorn in LA’s side the entire series.  Whether it was frustration with the team, his own play, or just being on the losing end of a series, Bynum ruined the final game of head coach Phil Jackson and gave the NBA a black eye (also, he gave JJ Barea some bruised ribs).  Bynum is definitely getting fined, and he deserves a hefty suspension to start next season, wherever he may be playing.  As for Odom, his foul was hard, but not an assault.
