Nothing says fun like a Yeti and action figures directed by Spike Jonze. Then throw in the music of the Beastie Boys and you’ve got 11-minutes worth of must-see footage. It’s sort of a combination of Team America/Robot Chicken/Thunderbirds with music. Maybe the rap trio took some cues from the mashup video put together using their song Sabotage and clips from Battlestar Galactica.
The Beastie Boys released their “Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win” clip, featuring artist Santigold, on Tuesday. It’s great to see the trio making new music after Adam Yauch survived his battle with cancer.
The action-filled video features the three members of the group that first helped sell rap in the suburbs back in the day performing on stage. An evil crew determined to take out Ad-Rock, MCA and Mike D with whatever firepower is necessary tries to blow up the Boys during a performance. Things get hectic from there. In addition to a Yeti – and no this Yeti doesn’t have mange, there’s also a shark encounter, but I won’t tell you anymore for fear of spoiling the fun.
