Dispatchers in 911 offices always have to be ready for any emergency. Any time the phone rings it could be a life-and-death emergency or a crazy unusual scenario. 911 operators have been asked to deliver cheeseburgers and find a woman a date. The calm and collected people manning 911 have even saved their choking son and sent fire trucks to their own home.

When the 911 line lit up in New Castle, Pennsylvania, the operator had another unusual circumstance. They could hear a man’s voice and noisy activity but couldn’t get a response from anyone on the phone. Believing a burglary was under way, the police tracked the cell phone call to a garage in the city. Upon arrival the authorities found three men in the process of robbing the establishment. It seems one of the burglars accidentally dialed 911 during the process of committing the crime. All three men were arrested and face a long list of charges.

Once again, crime doesn’t pay and butt dialing can create a ton of problems.
