Marketing in the fast food industry calls for some creative thinking to keep a restaurant thriving.
A pair of Domino’s Pizza managers in Lake City, Florida came up with an unusual way of getting business to heat up. Instead of making heart-shaped pizzas for Valentine’s Day or new products like breakfast pizzas or promoting a future Domino’s franchise located on the moon, Sean Everett Davidson, 23, and Bryan David Sullivan, 22, decided the best way to increase business at their Domino’s Pizza was to burn down their nearby rival, a Pappa John’s Pizza. The fire, set during the middle of the night, gutted the location and arson was named as the cause. This may be the ultimate food fight.
What is it about pizza parlor managers that cause them to act so insanely? Remember it was a Pennsylvania pizza maker who placed two bags filled with mice in a competitor’s location in an attempt to get the Health Department to close his rival. At least the fire-starting pair didn’t hire someone in a wacky costume that made them look like a Klansman to stand on the sidewalk outside their establishment to help bring about a business boom.
