It’s been a long time since there has been any new magic from Flight of the Conchords. The New Zealand-based comedy duo of Bret McKenzie and Jermaine Clement shot to fame thanks to their hilarious novelty songs, their brilliant television series on HBO, and their great music videos, concert tours, and general hilariousness. That’s a long time to go without any new Conchords, but fortunately, the wait is over. Flight of the Conchords have released a charity single for Red Nose Day titled Feel Inside (And Stuff Like That). The whole video is actually a mini-episode of the Conchords TV show, with the music video coming after the bit. The music starts at 10:17, but I think the whole thing is worth watching, because it is hilarious and adorable. Hiladorable?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QsmuMGkIlA“The Flight of the Conchords were initially approached to play a small part in the show, much like many others, but they immediately wanted to do more and offered to write the song,” said Cure Kids spokeswoman Hayley McLarin. “It is heart-warming and funny. It will make you laugh and cry.”
One of my favorite bits of the whole thing, aside from Murray, was when Bret and Jermaine grilled the little girls on how they felt about The Muppets. Bret McKenzie contributed the bulk of the new songs to The Muppets’ latest cinematic adventure, and it was obvious that getting a response from the kids–who had no idea–was cracking both Conchords up.
