The rumors of conflict between new Idol judge Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey were overblown, right?  Well, no; turns out, those feud rumors were perfectly true, and that friction between the two women judges was exposed in public at an American Idol audition in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey had a vicious verbal altercation that was caught on camera.  The video was immediately sold to TMZ, who immediately posted the video.

The reason behind the conflict is not known, but it appears to be personal, brutal, and the sort of thing that doesn’t go away.  When you have two divas on the same stage, and there’s not an alpha dog like Madonna around to keep everyone in line like she did at the Super Bowl, there can very easily be a butting of heads and whatever is going on between those two isn’t something Randy Jackson or Keith Urban can keep under control.

Then again, if these two were going to fight every week like this, it might make Idol worth watching for the first time in my life.  Especially if Keith Urban gets clobbered in the process.
