“There’s the sleeper! Get him!”

Personally, I don’t know how anyone can be bored at a tennis match.  From the epic meltdowns to the crazy outfits and trick shots, even the longest tennis match in the world is a fascinating, edge-of-the-seat experience for me.  Maybe it’s just me, and maybe I’m just a tennis fan at heart.  However, a fan at the Japan Open wasn’t quite as lucky.  During a match between Marco Chiudinelli and Janko Tipsarevic, Chiudinelli noticed a sleeping fan near the court and had Tipsarevic do something about it.  The 9th rank tennis player in the world hit a sleeping fan with a thrown tennis ball, to the delight of pretty much everyone ever.

Why was the fan such a distraction to Chiudinelli?  Who knows and honestly, does it matter?  Tipsarevic’s response was brilliantly ad-libbed, and perfectly executed.  It’s just a shame there wasn’t a better camera angle to see the fan getting bonked by the lobbed tennis ball like an unaware dog.
