In November of last year, the Jacksonville Jaguars decided to make a clean sweep. We’re talking a new coach and even a new owner. It didn’t exactly help the team’s fortunes, to say the least. Jacksonville has struggled in recent years, and even new owner Shahid Khan can’t change that particular team angle. However, maybe there’s another way to reverse the team’s fortunes, and that’s with a bold new team logo to get behind. Jacksonville has debuted a brand new Jaguar logo, and it’s… pretty uninspiring.
The logo is sleek, but that’s about it. It’s somehow less intimidating (not that a cartoon jaguar was all that scary in the first place). But still, as redesigns go? This is a pretty lame one. Why not just do the smart thing and change the logo to the frowning face of star running back Maurice Jones-Drew? He’s already the face of the franchise, so why not make him the literal face of the franchise? That would at least strike some fear into the hearts of the opposition’s defense, if no one else.
