In a lot of ways, a funeral is the last big debt a person will leave behind after they die.  Other bills can be taken care of, but when you pass, you’re on the hook for a great big bill.  Body removal, preparation, casket, funeral services, burial… all that can add up pretty quickly for your bereaved love ones, unless of course you take care of that before it becomes an issue.  The Lehigh Valley IronPigs must understand that, because they have arranged an unusual promotion to help someone take care of their final preparations at no cost.  The IronPigs have teamed with Reichel Funeral Home to give away a free $10,000 funeral package.

The IronPigs are calling the August 20th funeral giveaway “Celebration Of Life Night.”  Submissions for the free funeral must be turned in by July 31, and to win you have to be present at the Pigs game in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on August 20 at Coca-Cola Park.  In addition to the free funeral services, local companies Northampton Memorial Company will provide a free headstone and Richmar Florist will be providing free flowers for your casket.

“The best fans in Minor League Baseball deserve the opportunity to win a once-in-a-lifetime giveaway,” saidIronPigs General Manager Kurt Landes.  “Unquestionably, this is the most highly-coveted ‘out-of-the-box’ promotion in IronPigs history.”

It’s just a shame there’s no free food included.
