Randy Travis has been in the news a bit lately, and not for his six Grammy wins or his legendary career in music. It’s more for his personal troubles with alcohol, and it appears that there are more troubles waiting under the surface for the legendary country crooner with the awesome voice. Randy Travis is in critical condition at Heart Hospital Baylor Plano, in Plano, Texas. Travis went in for a heart condition, basically congestive heart failure and cardiomyopathy, and while in the hospital, Travis suffered a stroke. He is in critical condition.
Describing the stroke as a “complication of his congestive heart failure,” Travis’s spokesman Kirt Webster said, “He is out of surgery and remains in critical condition.”
Sadly, the stroke came just hours after the Baylor Health Care System released a statement indicating that Travis was responding positively to treatment for his heart problems. Up until three weeks ago, Travis was in good health until he caught a viral upper respiratory infection. Here’s hoping for a quick, full recovery for the singer.
