With every new bit of information, the sequel to Man of Steel sounds more and more like a possible prequel to a Justice League movie. As if Superman wasn’t enough of a draw, Warner Brothers and Zack Snyder added Batfleck to set up a potential World’s Finest-style Batman Versus Superman movie. Now, I guess because they want to have a back-door pilot to a full superhero team-up movie to rival Marvel’s brilliant The Avengers, Warner Brothers and DC are adding yet another superhero to the mix. Gal Gadot, an actress, model, and former Miss Israel 2004, has been cast as Wonder Woman in the Batman Versus Superman movie.
You may recognize Gal Gadot from Fast and Furious 5 and 6, assuming you paid attention to things not car chases in those films. Amazingly, Wonder Woman has never been seen on the big screen; a rebooted TV show was attempted in 2011, but never made it past the pilot stage. Probably because she didn’t get to use her modern-looking costume. Either way, she’s coming to a multiplex near you soon, assuming Zack Snyder has something to say about it.
“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe,” said director Zack Snyder, in a statement. “Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”
