Michael Jackson’s new album will be called Xscape.
Nothing boosts the career of an artist like an untimely death. After all, Michael Jackson died a sideshow oddity who planned a comeback concert series to raise some much-needed cash, and he was resurrected with the richest record deal of all time. He’s already got one posthumous album under his ghost belt, and now another one’s on the way. Michael Jackson has a new single and a new album due out later this month. The first single, “Love Never Felt So Good,” pairs the King of Pop with the Crown Prince of Pop, Justin Timberlake, and the Archduke of Production, Timbaland, for a bouncy, pseudo-disco pop tune. Here’s the song; feel free to take a listen.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmMk3pAnAI4Usher debuted the song by singing it at the IHeartRadio Awards last night; it’s already available for download. The full new album, Xscape, will be released May 13 and is already available for preorder at Amazon. “Love Never Felt So Good” is one of the 17 tracks on the new album, all of which are reworkings of old or lost Jackson material. For example, this single was originally written in 1983 by Jackson, Kathy Wakefield, and Canadian crooner Paul Anka (ask your grandparents). The song was released in 1984 by country singer Johnny Mathis. Now, MJ’s version will see the light of day.
