Goofy glasses, forehead scar, and quidditch are all hallmarks of one particular person, the creation of author J.K. Rowling is known all around the world and has created legions of superfans in every place where good children’s literature is appreciated. Rowling’s become a multi-multi millionaire off the back of Harry Potter, and grown-up novels aside, J.K Rowling is still best known for Harry Potter, and she’s got a brand-new short story on the Pottermore website concerning the grown-up adventures of Harry and the rest of Dumbledore’s Army. Read J.K. Rowling’s new “Harry Potter” short story at Today’s website.
As a bit of creator-penned fan fiction, it’s actually pretty fun. One of the more interesting characters in the Wizarding World, vicious gossip columnist Rita Skeeter of the Daily Prophet, is the real star of the show. Rowling has a really good feel for just how filthy muckrakers write. Her take on grown-up Potter, as seen above and as created by Daily Mirror, also makes sense, at least as far as it’s probably all made up by Skeeter out of jealousy regarding Ginny’s career.
Of course, the most important thing is that it fuels the fan frenzy around Potter once again. The idea that J.K. has ideas for adult versions of her characters suggests that there are further adventures for the gang everyone knows and loves. Fingers crossed that it pays off for all the Potterheads out there.
