With every passing gray day, the summer draws closer. One of the sure signs of summer’s approach is that, one by one, the big summer concert festivals begin to roll out their lineups and announce to waiting music fans just what they have in store for the sweltering, sunny days ahead. Billy Joel is going to be the headliner of the 2015 edition of Bonnaroo, supported by usual suspects like Mumford and Sons, My Morning Jacket, Robert Plant, Kendrick Lamar, Florence and the Machine, and lots more. Here’s the full lineup for the 2015 edition of Bonnaroo.
The festival has had lots of weird acts before, like Weird Al Yankovic, but to me the weirdest act of the festival is buried lower in the lines. That act would be, of all things, Slayer. What one of the big four metal bands would be doing at Bonnaroo, home of all things peace and love and drugs, I have no idea. Still, I imagine it would be awesome to see Slayer at a concert festival in front of thousands of people who have no idea what they’ve gotten themselves in for. Or, I suspect, a good minority of people who know what they’re in for.
Bonnaroo promises to be the biggest one yet, with over 125 musical acts, 20 comedians, and four days of fun. Bonnaroo is promised to draw 80,000 people to Manchester, Tennessee. If you’re going, be prepared for traffic.
