What would you do for a $355 Social Security check?
Enter David J. Dalaia and James O’Hare from stage left on a busy New York street who wheeled around a dead man to a check cashing business. The men dressed their friend, Virgilio Cintron, up in a bundle of clothes after he had died the previous evening just to get access to his monthly government check. Earlier the dynamic duo tried to cash the check but were told the Cintron had to be present for them to get the money. No problem for these guys apparently as Dalaia and O’Hare went back to their apartment and retrieved their dead buddy, put him in a wheelchair and headed back to cash his check. (Man, they really must have needed that money.)
But this could be a case of people pay more attention that one would initially think, especially a one Det. Travis Rapp who noticed the recently deceased man after our duo left him out on the sidewalk.Suspicious? You betcha.
Both men allegedly uttered up a double dosing of feigned surprise and mock grief when the officer asked them to get away from body. Both men were arrested before they could cash their dead Clintron’s check.
Now, I ask again, what would you do for a dollar? I’m pretty confident that most of us wouldn’t dress up a dead friend, put him in a wheelchair and take his check.Just saying.
