She’s very pregnant. She is a Marine. And she’s been missing since December 14.
And she’s become the focus of the country’s curiosity tied to her family’s despair over their missing child. But this case is different and complex on a variety of levels.
Maria Lauterbach was tapped to testify in an incident that occurred in Camp Lejeune which has some conspiracy theorists wondering if the 20-year-old Ohio woman has been a victim of foul play due to what she had to say about what she witnessed.
Investigator’s admit that specific evidence has them suspicious and alerts are all over the country looking for the young mother-to-be, who is scheduled to give birth to her first child at any time.
Lauterbach was last seen in Jacksonville, Fla and her bank account was depleted, however, investigators cite that “suspicious activity” was reported on it 10 days later. This includes her cell phone being found on the side of the road near Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.
Apparently Lauterbach was close to her family calling at least a dozen times a week. When her mother didn’t hear from her for several days, she found her daughter’s behavior suspicious and contacted authorities.
The family is also utilizing Facebook and other social networking programs to find their daughter. Thus far, no one has heard from her in nearly a month.
There are reports that she was ready to testify about being sexually assaulted by a superior officer.
Was she silenced for a reason? Or did she leave willingly to avoid having to face delivering testimony in court.
The questions continue to mount. Where is Lauterbach?
