Declines on Wall Street may send shivers up your spine, but some people believe we are headed for something a lot worse than a recession of the 1990’s. It’s pretty obvious that the situation is complex with no single economic panacea, but where do the answers lie?
Stock markets overseas are feeling the burn as well. However, it seems somewhat alarmist to claim another Great Depression is on our heels. The factors were stacked against everyone back in the 1930’s, but things don’t seem that bad… yet. Whatever happens in the next few years, one thing is for certain: the next President will be forced to address the economy from a different angle.
Looking at all the comments on the post, it’s obvious that some people agree with the writer. However, everyone seems to be pointing fingers and showering blame. That’s the joy of bipartisan politics I suppose. History has 20/20 vision, so we’ll find out sooner or later who got it right. Is the US headed for another Great Depression? It’s unlikely, but the economy could use a booster shot either way.
