Ever heard of the term cyberpunk? It’s kind of a science fiction spinoff of culture that exhibits technological, or cybernetic, elements in the design. For example, Christopher Conte literally brings these designs to life in a gallery of work seen here.
The set of unique pictures includes steam-powered insects, robotic arms, even unmanned attack chopper. All of these creations come to life from his imagination, using no formal blue-prints or instruction. It should come as no surprise that he also gets his inspiration from movies. By going out and literally piecing together biomechanical parts that can be as random as a Singer sewing attachment (my favorite), he builds these intricate cyberpunk inventions like making Legos.
Except instead of getting that “snap!” he hears the grinding and welding of cold steel. Check out the rest here.
