Everyone put on your tinfoil hats and stockpile the canned vegetables. Last week The Wall Street Journal outlined the NSA’s Domestic Spying Program and how they’re collecting all kinds of data. Emails, cellphones, even financial information… they’ve got systems in place for spying on ever facet of American life.
This isn’t some evil Big Brother world domination scheme or anything, but if you’re interested in seeing an overview of how all this comes together, it’s worth checking out Ars Technica’s great summary.
This is a sticky topic because how controversial spying has become. How much freedom should the government have? Can oversight be extended too far? Is our privacy at stake? Questions like this fuel the debate and don’t seem to be disappearing any time soon.
