Most business documentation and career books suck. Plain and simple. Whatever you can’t get out of a stuffy self-help book, you can find on Google. After all, how many people do you find lounging in the Biz aisle of your local bookstore? That’s not exactly a hip place to congregate. However, as many Japanophiles will tell you, manga is pretty popular among certain circles.
Imagine getting advice from a comic book — or manga, as it were. That’s where the comic Johnny Bunko comes in. Daniel H. Pink and Rob Ten Pas teamed up to tackle a genre they feel is under-represented in America.
On their site, they talk about how adults have no shame in reading this kind of stuff in Japan. Their comic brags about being “The Last Career Guide You’ll Ever Need” so it’ll be interesting to see how it’s received upon release next week.
