America’s favorite psychotic killer Charles Manson considers himself a singer. Throughout the serial killer’s career, he has always fancied himself a crooner and songwriter. It’s all really compelling when you thing about it. Now, he’s using the Internet to get his musical stylings to the masses.
Manson has a release (from 2005) headed to your computer for your listening enjoyment.
How he was allowed to record an album in prison is sketchy, but apparently Manson’s latest musical venture, named One Mind, can be downloaded for free.
Manson, along with the “Family” murdered several people including actress Sharon Tate, in 1969 in a bloody trail of carnage and psychosis that made national headlines. He used The Beatles’ song “Helter Skelter” as his inspiration, citing that it detailed what he needed to do during his murderous spree. Deputy District Attorney Vincent Bugliosi wrote a book under the same name after he prosecuted Manson and his followers for the murders which literally mesmerized the world.
Manson is not the first person to use Creative Commons and won’t be the last, but it just makes one wonder how he knew about all this stuff in the first place. I guess he gets time on the computer in the Big House. Who knew?
Manson has discovered the digital age. With proper attribution, you can hear the wailings of the convicted killer. If his earlier musical efforts are any indication, you probably aren’t missing much if you pass on his latest effort.
