It is the first day of fall today, and everywhere the weather is starting to cool down (finally, September had some days in the 90-degree range here!). That means Halloween is right around the corner, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas and New Year’s Day, then 2009. Time really does fly, doesn’t it? If your trees are still green, and mine that survived Hurricane Ike are, you might need a little help from this beautiful fall image gallery to get yourself in the mood for cool weather and football tailgate parties.
Unfortunately, fall also means leafers invading Rhode Island, raking the yard, and hearing everyone mangle the pronunciation of foliage. But hey, for this one brief day, let’s all just be thankful that the weather’s going to stop beating us up for a little while and that forests throughout the world are ready to explode in the flames of fall. (Not literal flames I hope; metaphorical flames of red, orange, and yellow leaves.) Plus, you could always make some cool fashions from the discarded plant life.
