Like I said last night, I’m sick of everything related to the news. Fortunately for me, artist Nick Georgiou agrees with me. That’s what inspired him to turn newspapers into works of art. As Nick said, “The piece was inspired by all that’s happening right now- the printed words decline, the economic crisis, war, political uncertainty… OVERKILL”. I could not agree more!
I’ve had kind of a black cloud over my head for the last two or three weeks. I spent all last week in bed sick, which is why posting was light here. This week I’ve got to buy a new battery for my car. I cut my finger Monday, and today I smashed that same finger in a door, reopening the old cut and ripping a hunk of skin on my knuckle. I’m kicking as hard as I can to stay afloat, and every time I turn on the TV there’s just another flood of bad news about the economy, mud-slinging political ads, and other stuff I do not want to deal with.
Maybe I’ll take a tip from Nick Georgiou’s sculpture and indulge in a little primal scream therapy. Maybe I should eat a bag of four leaf clovers or cup my groin and hope I make it through the next week without falling down a flight of stairs or lighting myself on fire.
