PopFi first brought you coverage of the story of Dede Kosawa, the Tree Man of Java, way back in April when he had four pounds of warts removed from his body. A few months and many more surgeries later, he’d had an additional ten pounds of warts removed and was looking forward to finding a new wife and getting back into the work force. Unfortunately, the Tree Man’s bark is starting to come back, robbing him of his ability to use his hands once again.
I feel bad for this guy, as I’m sure we all do. He’s lost jobs, a wife, and suffered serious health setbacks due to a medical condition that leaves him with a weakened immune system unable to fight off the warts, but he’d made so much positive headway! Doctors had warned him the warts might come back, though the condition would never be life-threatening again. I can only imagine they didn’t think his warts would come back this strongly.
It’s only been four months, but you can see from the picture just how badly the condition has become. Is this poor guy doomed to spend the rest of his life in and out of the hospital every few months, sloughing off pounds of cutaneous horns for the next 40 years? That’s no way to live.
