Who doesn’t love a weird building?  I know I do, and I’m pretty sure everyone else does too.  That’s one of the reasons why we talk about weird modern research facilities.  Well, the sci-fi blog io9 is full of like-minded folks, which is why they put together a gallery of buildings that look like spaceships.

That’s one thing I don’t understand about architecture.  Why can’t it be cooler?  There needs to be more fun in the design of buildings.  They really SHOULD look more like spaceships, or anything other than big glass boxes or concrete bunkers.  I mean, I can understand the difference between a functional building and something fun, like an art gallery, but if you can make a television tower look awesome, you can do pretty much anything and make it look awesome.
