I watch a ton of those judge shows. You know, Judge Judy, Judge Joe Brown, The People’s Court, etc. If it’s Judge Somebody or Somebody’s Court, I’m all over it. You get to see a whole lot of weird things on those shows and even, if you’re lucky, learn a little something about the legal system. However, as weird as those shows can get, there’s never been anything as odd as summoning a parrot to court. The bird is in the middle of a civil lawsuit over its ownership. African Grey parrots apparently go for over $2000!
Now, if the parrot was being called in to give testimony? That would possibly be the greatest episode of TruTV (the old Court TV) ever. Unfortunately, this parrot is just getting brought in so they can check its claw for an identification ring. Still, how often does a parrot get subpoenaed? Maybe it knows the location of Blackbeard’s treasure!
