One of the most memorable scenes in Tim Burton’s movie Edward Scissorhands is when Edward goes around the neighborhood carving all the shrubs and trees into topiaries. Topiaries are those living sculptures or works of art made out of actual green, growing plants. If you’re like me and can’t even cut paper on a straight line without help from the Army Corps of Engineers, you might want to consider the gardening services of Topiary Joe, one of the world’s premier topiary artists. Just check out his work over at Inhabitant!
This is some absolutely stunning stuff. Whether it is carving a living plant into the right shape or growing plants around a wire frame, I’d have trouble replicating this work. Making the frame isn’t the problem; I can’t make plants grow. Even if I had a digital pot that told me all I needed to know about my plant’s health, it’d still end up dying.
