That gentleman off to your right is Robert Mugabe. At age 85, he is one of the world’s oldest active heads of state. Of course, he’s also a murdering, horrible dictator, but for an older dude he’s got a pretty cool job. Of course, he’s not the only older gentleman with a pretty awesome occupation. These days, you can pretty much do any job at any age with a little responsible management. Just ask these 10 old folks with awesome jobs.
Interestingly enough, at least to me, there’s also an interesting connection between my family and the idea of elderly workers. My great-uncle John was a deputy sheriff at the ripe old age of 64, making him one of the oldest sheriffs in state history and, at the time, the oldest in the history of the county. My grandmother on that side of the family lived by herself and remained active into her early 80’s before she succumbed to a brain aneurysm.
I should be so lucky! If, in fifty years, I’m still posting here at PopFi, I’ll consider it a life well lived. I think the key to happy golden years is to stay active and vibrant. After all, if you don’t use it, you lose it!
