I’ve seen a lot of cool image galleries lately, but not many as cool or complete as these two concerning America’s gambling mecca, Las Vegas. From vintage Vegas to the city’s modern architectural marvels, Vegas has always been a town that has pushed the limits of design and good taste in the best way possible. Is there anything more American than building a town in the middle of the desert, pumping thousands of gallons of water into it to keep it green, and then throwing open the doors for any and all forms of depravity, lust, and greed? That’s what makes this country great!
I’ve always wanted to visit Vegas, just to soak in some of that outlaw spirit. You can blame the book Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas for that (and the movie, but the book came first for me). From the moment I read that, I’ve had the itch to go to Vegas and have some kind of wild “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”-type adventure. I haven’t gone yet, but I don’t think it’s gonna go anywhere.
