Sawing logs, catching Z’s, or taking 40 winks… no matter what you call sleeping, it’s of crucial importance to the health and well-being of the human body. But what if the person you’re married to snores? And I’m not talking about any standard snores, I’m talking about Jenny Chapman, the woman who snores louder than a jet engine. Her nighttime snorting echos at an ear-damaging 111.6 decibels! What do you do then? If you’re Jenny’s husband Colin, then you just go sleep in a different room.
Because of my father’s sleep apnea and deviated septum, my parents have slept in different rooms for years. My dad always snored loudly, but when he started choking at night and waking up unable to breathe is when he finally had to leave bed-sleeping mostly behind. He’s tried everything short of a CPAP machine and surgery to correct his snoring and breathing troubles, but nothing has really worked.
