All in all, it was a pretty memorable day for 11-year-old Bulgarian gypsy Kordeza Zhelyazkova.  Not only did she become the bride of her boyfriend, Jeliazko Dimitrov, the 11-year-old from Sliven also became a mother.  She gave birth on her wedding day, two years before she becomes a teenager.  That’s a pretty big day.

She left her marriage ceremony to give birth to her average-sized offspring in her wedding dress and tiara.  After a night in the hospital, she went back to the church and finished her marriage.  Both mother Kordeza and daughter Violeta are healthy and happy, but father Jeliazko (age 19) faces 2-6 years in jail for having sex with a girl under age 14.  The fact that they’re married has no bearing on his punishment or lack thereof.

Still, 11?  I know things are different in other parts of the world when it comes to marriage and babies, but wow.  Even R. Kelly thinks that’s a little young, dude!
