O’Rhonde Chapman may only be 17 years old, but he feels as though he’s been a woman all his life, merely trapped in the body of a man. That’s why he routinely wears women’s clothing to school. However, the day he donned a wig and stiletto heels is the day he went a little too far. School officials from Nimitz High School sent him home for violating the Aldine Independent School District’s dress code. Now, he’s threatening a lawsuit.
While other cross-dressing and gender-confused students have been in the news lately, this is the first one who feels as though he’s being discriminated against. School officials say that his outfit violated the school dress code, which prohibits wigs (that hide policy-violating hair). While O’Rhonde was wearing a wig, he says his real hair doesn’t violate the dress code.
It is unknown whether or not O’Rhonde’s purple high heels were against the dress code, or if they were merely a violation of good fashion sense.
