The idea of men in the kitchen, to a lot of people, is high comedy. I mean, on TV sitcoms, Dad is always burning dinner or screwing up somehow. However, in the real world, Dad is just as capable of turning on the oven and opening up some canned vegetables as Mom is, and today is the day to show it. That’s right, it’s National Men Make Dinner Day, so fellas, it’s time to tie on that apron and get to brazing the endives!
Not all men can be like my father and do most of the cooking for the family (or at least cook about half the time). If you need something delicious and easy, I suggest pan-frying some pork chops or fish. Anyone can make a tossed salad and mash some potatoes. Add in some boiled corn or a steam-in-bag plate of broccoli and you’ve got yourself an official meal.
Maybe it won’t cut the mustard on Iron Chef, but I doubt the other folks in your life will notice.
