I discussed it last year, but it’s the birthday of the United States Marine Corps. In this case, birthday number 234. Happy birthday, Marines. In honor of the Corps and all the friends I have who have served the United States with honor and distinction, I present the following incredible video.
The United States Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, if you’ve never seen them, are an incredible unit. The fact that the drills are performed in complete silence with only the click and thump of the rifles is just a stunning display of precision, dedication, and the ability of individuals to come together for a greater purpose. This video is from a performance at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery in France, which honors American World War One veterans. It’s very moving.
