It’s fitting that, on the day after the birthday of the Marine Corps, that we honor veterans worldwide.  No matter if you call it Veterans Day, Armistice Day, or Remembrance Day,  the important thing is that we all honor those who fought and died for our freedoms, and those who continue to fight and die to preserve and spread those very same freedoms throughout the world.  They lay down their lives and spend months, even years, away from their families so people like me can sit around and blog.

Thank you all for your service to your country.  You deserve every parade, every accolade, and every bit of praise that you get, and a whole lot more.  In honor of Veterans Day, Mental Floss put together a seriously heartwarming collection of videos featuring soldiers being reunited with their faithful canine companions.  If that’s not enough to make you tear up, they also included footage of soldiers being reunited with their kids.  (Surely to goodness I’m not the only one who got misty over these videos!)
