All Dustin Reader wanted to do was show support for his favorite professional football team.  Is that so bad?  Well, when you’re an eighth-grade student in Hamilton, Ohio, and you decide to shave your head in an imitation of the Bengals logo, then yes, it is bad.  Thanks to his wild hair style, Dustin is suspended from school until it grows back or he shaves it out.

I’m not a fan of shaving stuff into your head, but I can understand why he did it.  Just like the team’s star player, he’s excited.  As an eighth-grader, he’s never seen the Bengals be anything but terrible (their last playoff appearance was in 2006, but before that it had been a 15-year drought), and when your favorite team is 6-2 in the toughest division in the NFL, you get a little goofy with happiness.

I should know; I’m a Bengals fan, too.
