Katie Lynn Smith, a 20-year-old from Nitro, West Virginia, had a crush on a customer. She saw the guy regularly, we assume, and eventually grew fond of the man. In an attempt to curry favor with her suitor, she made him a sweetheart deal. Namely, she gave him over $20,000 in discounted items from the Lowe’s Home Improvement warehouse where she worked in an attempt to buy his love.
I’m not sure if she successfully wooed her contractor love interest or not, as the article doesn’t say. What is said is that Ms. Smith is now facing some pretty serious charges thanks to her “love for sale” scheme. Here’s hoping it worked out better for her than it did for Brooke Hundley! It’s always risky for an employee to pursue an customer, or vice versa.
Here’s hoping it was worth it.
