Sometimes you just need a little help getting through the holiday season, and for most people, that help comes in a bottle. However, if publican Paul Hurley of Midtown Manhattan’s O’Casey’s Tavern has his way, you won’t need to get your booze from a bottle this Thanksgiving; you’ll be able to get a buzz off the main course. He’s offering what he calls 100-proof turkey, turkey and gravy that are infused with 100-proof Georgi vodka!
There’s no need to worry about getting home after your dinner. Rather than risking public transportation or driving, Hurley’s establishment is offering folks a free cab ride home. They didn’t mention the price, but I imagine it’ll be pretty steep, considering the bird is getting soaked in fruit-flavored vodka for 3 days before preparation, and nobody’s really sure just how much vodka will remain in the turkey after baking and basting with vodka gravy.
