Tactical Nuclear Penguin beer is in extremely short supply. Brewery BrewDog, based in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, have only made 500 bottles of the £30, which is apparently more complex to make than other drinks. Why is this particular beer so special? Well, at a staggering 32% ABV, it’s the world’s strongest beer, and they have the Guinness World Record listing to prove it. For those not up to date on beer lingo, 32% alcohol by volume is 64 proof, or just shy of a bottle of vodka. They have an incredible blog post about the difficulty of the task that I recommend everyone check out.

BrewDog knows a thing or two about making incredibly strong beer. After all, the company also produced the strongest beer made in England. If anyone was going to top German brewer Schorschbraer’s 31% per volume brew, it was them. The stout was aged in whiskey casks for 16 months, then stored in a -20 degrees Celcius (or -4 degrees Farenheit) to eliminate even more of the water in the beer. It’s a lot of work for a very rare and expensive stout.
