I would think that we’re all familiar with those awesome 1950’s movie monster posters. You know, the ones with some kind of giant spider or great ape on the loose with a horde of panicky people fleeing from it, at risk of being squashed by some giant appendage or another? Those are awesome. Equally awesome are these movie poster spoofs that depict humans as the monsters and animals as the fleeing mob.
Of course, the posters aren’t just spoofs, they’re actually part of a public relations ad campaign by the Center for Migratory Species, with poster designs done by Serviceplan, an ad agency in Germany. The goal is to raise awareness to the damage humans are causing to the environment by deforestation, overfishing, and, uh… stepping on spiders? At least, I think that’s what these ads are all about; they may just be cool attention grabbers for the CMS.
