The name of the five-year-old black Labrador retriever in question is Oscar, but you may as well call him Rattles.   Oscar and his owner Chris Morrison generally go for walks along one of Dunfermline, Scotland’s three golf courses.  As such, Oscar picks up a lot of golf balls and brings them back to Chris; after all, he is a retriever.  Then, one day, Chris hears the strangest rattling sound coming from within his dog.  Turns out, Oscar had eaten 13 golf balls over a period of months!

The delicate operation took place over a couple of hours and was done by a veterinarian named Bob Hesketh.  In the vet’s words, “It was like a magic trick.  I opened him up and felt what I thought was two or three golf balls.  But they just kept coming until we had a bag full.”
