When Lydia Carranza got her breast implants, she probably did it for cosmetic reasons. After all, it’s not like breast implants can stop bullets, right? Well, normally they can’t, but Lydia Carranza and her surgeons are thanking her falsies for saving her life. Ms. Carranza was working in a dental office in Simi Valley, California, when a man stormed in with a gun. He shot his intended target, his ex-wife, and then turned the gun on Lydia. She was shot point blank in the chest, yet she lived to tell the tale due to her D-cup breast implants.
She was shot in the chest, but the bullet hit (and deflated) her saline breast implant. This slowed the bullet fragments just enough to keep the shrapnel from hitting her heart and other vital organs. Apparently the best way to survive bullet wounds are to either get fake breasts or grow a life-saving layer of fat.
