Fort Bend County Prison in Sugar Land, Texas, is probably on lock down right now. Why am I confident in saying this? Easy, a prisoner escaped. Well, I guess it’s not a prison escape, so much as it is a run down to the corner to pick up a pack of smokes. Prison officials say that a worker at a trusty work camp left the premises, ran down to WalMart to pick up a carton of cigarettes, and then returned to prison after his “daring escape.”
Cigarettes are nothing but trouble, apparently. This must be why the no-smoking prison is the wave of the future. It keeps them from randomly wandering off to feed their addiction! Given that the trusty camp is for low-risk prisoners, it’s not like anyone was endangered by the run-off, and he did come back, but… odds are he won’t be a trust-worthy prisoner anymore after this jaunt down to the corner store.
