Talk about adding insult to injury. Not only did Bank of America and Snyder Property Services unlawfully steal the house of Angela M. Iannelli of Hampton, Pennsylvania, the worst part is what happened to her parrot. For a week, they kept her parrot, Luke, a hostage! Despite being late on only one payment in her mortgage history, BoA instructed Snyder to padlock and winterize the woman’s home one day while she was at work. She came home to find her water and power lines cut, her door padlocked, her home and possessions damaged, and, oh yeah, her parrot gone.
They also refused to accept responsibility for their screw up until Ms. Iannelli retained legal counsel. They also violated state law by foreclosing on her home without sending her a 60-day delinquency notice or given her 30 days to make things right with them. She’s started lawsuit proceedings against the company, and her parrot is her star witness.
