It’s getting to be that time of year again. About this time every year, the tax forms start arriving, and thus, the looming April 1 deadline starts to make its presence felt. It’s tax time, and if you work from home like I do, then you’ll want to have your write-offs prepared. PC World has some great tips on what you can, and can’t write off when it comes to tech and taxes.
This is something I struggle with every year. You’d think, after having stuff to write off and having working-from-home income for three years now that I’d have figured out what I can and can’t deduct (and what percentages of various expenses can count towards offsetting my meager income). You’d be wrong. Every year I struggle with making these choices, only to tell the accountant I see to just use his best judgment after explaining what I do and how much of it I do using my personal equipment.
