Not, one, but two sharks have been discovered in the Tennessee River. “But Ron,” you’re saying to yourself. “Aren’t sharks saltwater fish? And isn’t the Tennessee River a freshwater river?” Yes, and yes. Before you ask, no, this isn’t the start of some sort of MegaShark Versus Giant Octopus or even Shark Versus Megashark scenario in the hills of West Tennessee. Both sharks were picked out of the water by fishermen and were found about a week apart. Also, neither shark was alive at the time they were discovered.
The sharks are believed to either be black nose sharks, or fire tooth sharks. Both sharks eat meat, but neither shark attacks humans. Authorities say someone probably caught a shark in the Gulf of Mexico and brought it home, not knowing it was pregnant. After cleaning it and discovering it was pregnant, the baby sharks were dumped into the river. Either that, or it’s some kind of prank.
