If you’re an English person from Sunderland, Durham, or Teesside, I suggest not meeting anyone off of Facebook. According to Peter Kelly, Teesside’s director of public health, those three areas of Great Britain are where Facebook use is at its highest. They’re also areas where Facebook use has been linked to an outbreak of syphlis amongst the area’s population.
“I don’t get the names of people affected, just figures, and I saw that several of the people had met sexual partners through these sites. Social networking sites are making it easier for people to meet up for casual sex,” said Professor Kelly, summing up the whole reason why most people log into Facebook. Sundelrand, Durham, and Teeside residents are 25% more likely to be heavy users of Facebook than the average Brit.
So, if you’ve ever wanted to reenact the Tuskeegee Experiment, then now you know where to go to find people riddled with STDs. This is why condoms are important, people; you need to protect yourself from disease-riddled Facebook contacts!
