You have to give them all credit for originality. One of the few things I remember from old westerns is that, to cover your tracks, you need to brush the sand around to conceal where you’ve been walking. (You can also walk single file, but I learned that from Star Wars.) However, some real world criminals have been caught trying some inventive ways to conceal their tracks. For example, a narcotrafficing Mexican gang was caught sneaking across the southern border of the US with blocks of foam rubber taped over their shoes.
Not to be deterred, or perhaps inspired by this inventive feat of feet, an 18-year-old man from Cadillac, Michigan decided to knock over the All Star Pay Day Loans in Manistee Township, Michican. To cover his tracks, he decided to take a tip from the Mexican drug smugglers. While he didn’t have foam, he did cover his shoes with duct tape in an attempt to obscure his foot prints.
Neither trick worked, but it’s not for a lack of trying! Maybe I should try foam rubber and duct tape on my next pair of extra-funky kicks, or when I have to get my goth boots through airport security.
