Sometimes, the simplest attractions are the most difficult to build. Just ask Mark Hays. Back in 1990, he (along with Gary Cerveny and inventor Doug Malewicki) put the finishing touches on Robosaurus, the original fire-breathing, car-eating robot dinosaur. Part Tyrannosaurus Rex, part Transformer, and all awesome, Robosaurus is celebrating his 20th year of entertaining crowds at monster truck shows, car shows, and other special events throughout the United States and Australia.
So, why has Robosaurus never been to Europe? Well, at 40 feet tall and weighing in at an impressive 58,000 pounds, Robosaurus is just too darn big to drive on the roads in Europe. Given that it handles like a tank, it’s also not exactly the best thing to put on Europe’s winding, narrow roads.
If you’ve never seen Robosaurus in person, you’re missing out. This thing is seriously impressive live, especially when it crushes a car with 24,000 pounds of force via hydraulic jaws. There’s nothing cooler than a giant metal monster that eats stuff.
