All Jordan Crouch wanted to do was help out his dad, James. He knows how hard his dad works to take care of the family, so he wanted to give back, and he was going to do so in the most logical way an 8-year-old could. He was going to sneak out of the house, steal his mom’s car keys, and take the family minivan to the gas station and fill ‘er up with unleaded. So yes, technically the 8-year-old stole a car, but he did so for a good reason!
Somehow, the kid was able to back the van out of the driveway without incident, and had turned in the right direction to travel down the road at a safe 5 miles per hour. However, the difficulty he was having reaching the pedals while steering eventually caught up to him, causing him to crash the van into a telephone pole. He’s not hurt, though the van’s probably seen better days.
Jordan’s parents now say they’re going to keep a better eye on the boy (probably to the point of locking up the car keys).
